A family of four now saves $12 by skating at City Green on a Tuesday rather than a Saturday. That has never been true before. Skate City Springs has used one ticket price in past seasons. For 2026, the city made it tiered by day of the week.
The full City Springs holiday calendar follows the same split. The free, walk-up events land Monday through Thursday. The ticketed productions cluster on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
What the new pricing actually costs
Skate City Springs opens Friday, Nov. 13, and runs through Monday, Jan. 18, 2027. Sandy Springs Today confirmed the 2026 to 2027 season dates and prices on Oct. 24, drawing on the city's own page. The rink sits on City Green at 1 Galambos Way. Sessions last one hour, and skate rental is included.
| Adults | Kids, ages 2 to 9 | Two adults, two kids | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | $15 | $12 | $54 |
| Friday to Sunday | $18 | $15 | $66 |
Each person pays $3 more on weekends, and the gap grows with group size. The city's Skate City Springs page lists tiered pricing as "new this season." It also introduces group packages that combine food, gathering space and skating. One example is a Classic Pizza Package. Another is an All-American Grill package with unlimited hot cocoa. Families and other groups book on that page, and corporate outings go through [email protected]. As of the city's latest update, booking for packages was set to open soon.
Capacity is limited, so the city recommends reserving online. Walk-ups are welcome, but the city suggests calling (404) 890-6690 first to check availability. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your session to pick up skates. As of Oct. 24, Sandy Springs Today reported that ticket sales had not yet opened.
The rink's own programming follows the same split. Every night at 6 p.m. is Glow Night, and that includes Monday through Thursday at the lower price. Fridays bring Disco Slide Nights starting at 6 p.m. Saturdays have themed nights from 8 to 10 p.m., and skaters who dress up get a free hot cocoa. The weekend nights are the dressed-up, DJ-driven version. A weeknight session is the same ice under glow lighting for less.
The weeknight calendar is mostly free
The free events on the City Springs holiday calendar mostly fall on weekdays, starting the day this post goes up.
Thursday, Nov. 5. The Sandy Springs Night Market runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at River Springs Shopping Center, 8610 Roswell Road, with more than 30 local vendors. It is the November date in the city's new first-Thursday series, which ran September through November. It takes place up Roswell Road, away from City Green. It also closes out the series for the year.
Wednesday, Nov. 11. The city's 17th annual Veterans Day Tribute begins at 11:30 a.m. in Byers Theatre. The city's announcement says it is free and open to the public.
Monday through Thursday, Nov. 16 onward. Weeknights at the rink fill the rest of the season, with 6 p.m. Glow Night at the $15 and $12 rate.
New Year's Eve is the exception. It falls on a Thursday this year, and it is the biggest ticketed night of the season. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra plays City Springs on Dec. 31, followed by a separate party in the Studio Theatre.
The weekend calendar is ticketed and stacked
From late November on, the weekend dates fill with productions and the city's biggest public event.
- Saturday, Nov. 21: A Magical Cirque Christmas at City Springs.
- Friday, Nov. 27, through Sunday, Dec. 6: Roswell Dance Theatre's The Nutcracker at City Springs, opening the day after Thanksgiving.
- Sunday, Dec. 6: Sparkle Sandy Springs on City Green. Visit Sandy Springs lists it from 4 to 10 p.m., with a nighttime parade and the Christmas tree and menorah lighting. The city's Sparkle page also describes a food and gift market. It says the detailed schedule is still coming and times may change.
- Sunday, Dec. 13: Joe Alterman's Toast & Jam Holiday Jazz Brunch at City Springs.
December 6 is the day to plan most carefully. The Nutcracker's final performance and Sparkle both fall on that Sunday, around the same green the rink occupies. For anyone who wants City Green without the crowds, the weekday pricing and the weekend stack point the same way.
Within a ten-minute walk of the ice
An hour on the rink is a short outing. What turns it into an evening is what sits within walking distance, and that list has grown since last winter.

Three of those names are new to the district this year or new to holiday season at City Green.
Summit Coffee occupies the restored historic Williams-Payne House. The city named it the house's first food and beverage tenant in October 2025, with plans for a café and a seasonal creamery. City Springs describes it as open daily, serving specialty coffee, matcha and pastries, with indoor and outdoor seating. It also plans to add cocktails, wine and beer to the menu. Glow Night starts at 6 p.m., so a café this close to the rink gives skaters somewhere to warm up before or after a session.
The Gelatist appeared in Rough Draft Atlanta's roundup of May 2026 openings as now open in Sandy Springs. Its listed address is 220 Sandy Springs Circle, #189.
Taste Wine Bar & Market held a grand opening for its second location on June 27, 2026, as Rough Draft Atlanta reported. Its address is 6405 Bluestone Road, Suite 220. That puts it inside City Springs. It sits on the directory's on-site list for anyone pairing a weeknight skate with a glass of wine afterward.
The walkable list will keep growing, though not this season. Through a competitive process that began in June 2026, the city selected Trammell Crow Company to serve as master developer for the next roughly 5.5 acres of City Springs. Trammell Crow will work through its residential arm, High Street Residential, with Third and Urban, DSM Real Estate Partners and Hedgewood Homes. On Oct. 20, the City Council approved a resolution to advance those plans. According to the city's announcement, the priorities are more local restaurants and retailers, a boutique hotel, more green space, and both single-family and multifamily homes. Rezoning and negotiations over the land's sale still lie ahead. High Street Residential is also building Hillcrest, an 8.1-acre mixed-use project across the street at Mount Vernon Highway and Sandy Springs Circle. Hillcrest is planned with more than 18,000 square feet of retail. Its project site still lists it as opening in 2027.
The rink opens Nov. 13. Weeknight sessions cost $15 for adults and $12 for kids, and the City Springs directory lists 16 places to eat within a ten-minute walk of the ice.
